    Modern Slavery Statement

    Syntegon Technology GmbH is the holding company of a number of subsidiaries in the United Kingdom. This statement is provided for itself and on behalf of the whole Syntegon group of companies (“Syntegon”).

    Syntegon is committed to improving our practices and driving out acts of modern day slavery and human trafficking from within our business and from within our supply chains. The Group acknowledges responsibility to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and will ensure transparency within our organisation and with our suppliers of goods and services.

    Syntegon Technology is a leading global process and packaging technology provider. The company, headquartered in Waiblingen (Germany), has been offering complete solutions for the pharmaceutical and food industries for over 50 years. About 6,000 employees at 30 locations in more than 15 countries generated a total revenue of 1.3 billion euros in 2020. The portfolio of intelligent and sustainable technologies includes stand-alone machines, as well as complete systems and services.

    We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Code of Business Conduct reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

    Social Responsibility at Syntegon
    Syntegon will not work with any suppliers who have demonstrably and repeatedly failed to comply with basic International Labour Organization (ILO) standards.

    Thanks to foresight and careful planning, we can make the right strategic decisions to ensure that our business continues to prosper and provide secure jobs. We also recognize our responsibility to society as a whole and therefore offer sound training for young people – which, at the same time, represents a key investment in Syntegon’s knowledge base. We provide our associates with excellent working conditions. We strive to limit the environmental impact of our activities and to reduce our use of resources where we can. This means respecting all the current norms on environmental and energy management – along the entire length of our supply chain as well. In our use of environmentally friendly materials and production methods that help conserve resources, we are one of the pioneers in sustainable packaging solutions. We see ourselves as an integral part of the community, and we therefore participate in social initiatives at our locations. We also take active measures to prevent any compliance violations.

    The Managing Board of Syntegon and the associate representatives affirm their commitment to common principles of social responsibility. The principles are described in the Syntegon Code of Business Conduct, and in our Code of Conduct for External Business Partners based on the basic labor standards of the ILO.

    Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking
    Syntegon plans to join the United Nations Global Compact. We support the ten principles of the Global Compact and, in compliance with the Syntegon values, use the international network in order to set higher standards in human and workers’ rights, as well as in environmental protection and the fight against corruption.

    Syntegon and in particular the UK subsidiaries Syntegon Technology Limited and Kliklok International Limited are committed to this initiative’s ten global principles in the areas of human rights, working standards, environmental protection, and the fight against corruption. Syntegon will not work with any suppliers who have demonstrably and repeatedly failed to comply with basic ILO labour standards.

    Effectiveness
    The effectiveness has been measured and reported until End of 2019 by the Bosch Group. The following link provides an overview of the progress made in the most recent reporting period by the Bosch Group in relation to the ten principles of responsible corporate governance in Global Compact. Syntegon plans to introduce an own similar progress reporting.

    This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Syntegons slavery and human trafficking statement. The Company Directors and Senior Management of Syntegon shall take the responsibility for implementing this policy statement and its objectives and shall provide adequate resources and investment to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place within the organisation within its supply chains.

    This policy statement was approved by the Managing Board in January 2020.
