Centuries of noodle-making experience meets robotic packaging solutions

A renowned noodle manufacturer with centuries of tradition embarked on an exciting new venture: introducing a range of new freeze-dried Asian-style noodles. Known for their commitment to quality, including gluten-free varieties, the company faced unique challenges with their delicate, highly abrasive noodles that required gentle handling to maintain their exceptional quality.

Adding to the complexity, their production facility had limited space, and the noodles were transported on a wide conveyor belt. While they already had a secondary packaging solution in place, finding the right packaging line to seamlessly integrate into their setup was essential. Our tailored solution not only overcame these challenges but optimized the process for efficiency and reliability.

Our Technical Solution:

The products are transferred from a freeze dryer onto the feeder belt.
Using a Maertens spreading belt, the noodles are conveyed into the RPP robotic cell.
The RPP vision system detects the position of the incoming noodles and controls the robots accordingly. Four delta robots pick up two products each and place them in the 60° cross-feed chain of the flow pack machine.
The flow wrapping machine, Pack 202, packs the noodles in a 2x2 configuration (4 Mie-noodles per pack) with a total of 276 products in 69 packs per minute.
