Frozen Food: French Toast Sticks

Project Description

This US-customer is specialized in producing frozen French toast sticks for businesses. They were looking for a new, fully automated solution to replace a hand packing operation with the help of robotic product handling. Apart from a high degree of automation, the new equipment needed to comply with stringent hygienic standards for frozen food. The frozen French toast sticks arrive in bulk from the upstream process. The product flow had to be organized to feed the flow wrapping machines. Each flow pack should contain two frozen French toast sticks.

Our Technical Solution:

The frozen French toast sticks are taken over in bulk from the upstream process.
A vibratory conveyor spreads the frozen sticks on a mass flow belt.
RPP’s vision system detects the frozen sticks’ positions so that the delta robots can reflex pick two products at once and place them into the infeed flight of the flow wrapper.
A Pack 202 flow wrapping machine produces 2ct flow packs.

500 products per minute
