Crailsheim, Germany, November 29, 2023. The construction of Syntegon's new office building at the global process and packaging technology vendor's Crailsheim site is making strides. The topping-out ceremony, attended by mayor Dr. Christoph Grimmer and other guests, took place on November 28. With the construction project proceeding right on schedule, the building is expected to be ready for occupancy in the first half of 2025. Its four stories will have 2,100 square meters of floor space and feature 100 new workplaces, a rooftop terrace, and multi-purpose collaboration rooms. The project launched in April of this year with a groundbreaking ceremony that was also attended by Dr. Grimmer, the mayor of Crailsheim.
Shell is up and ready to go
The topping-out ceremony traditionally marks the completion of structural work on a building. Crailsheim mayor Dr. Christoph Grimmer and Martin Staudacher from the construction company APS Bau, took Syntegon site manager Stephan März up on his invitation to commemorate the occasion on site. Syntegon stakeholders and the construction crew were also on hand to celebrate this important milestone of the project. “The rapid construction of our new building reflects our determination to grow and underscores our commitment to Crailsheim. I would like to thank everyone involved for everything they have accomplished so far,” said site manager Stephan März at the event.
It took the project team just seven months to complete the shell of the new office building. Even the facade and parts of the outdoor area are ready to go well within schedule. “This means that we are already a bit further along than we would normally be at the time of a topping-out ceremony,” says Matthias Ellinger, who heads up building management at Syntegon.

SYNSPACES – a fresh concept for modern working environments
The new office building is one of the first to be designed fully in line with the SYNSPACES concept. This Syntegon-wide initiative is all about how people will work together in the future. “The idea behind this concept is to design our working environments in a way that enables all employees to tap their full potential,” says Ulrike Bosch, the architect who heads up the project at Syntegon. This design includes a spacious rooftop terrace and several coffee-bar kitchenettes that can also serve as hubs for people from different departments to mingle. Focus and meeting rooms offer plenty of space for teamwork in a welcoming environment. The new building’s design goes to maximize synergies between the various departments and teams.
